Horse With No Name

Downhill Prototype

It does not have a real name yet. But it already has a very clear direction.

Clorofilla Bike Lab

From idea to a working prototype

Clorofilla Bike Lab is our design and research & development laboratory.

It was born from our experience in mechanical engineering, design and the bicycle industry, with the goal of turning ideas and concepts into real, tangible projects.

Alongside our own line of Clorofilla Bike Lab components, we provide design, engineering, development and prototyping services for third-party companies, combining technical expertise, manufacturing experience and a real mechanical workshop able to deliver a fully functional prototype.

We enjoy designing and developing bicycles that excite us first, and we’re also willing to sell the project to client companies who share our vision and want to proceed with series production.

Do you have an idea, a product to develop, or simply something you would like to turn into reality?
Get in touch. Let’s have a chat, share ideas and see where the project can take us.
The project

An uncompromising downhill bike

At the moment it’s called “Horse With No Name” because it is in the first stage of development and does not have a real name yet. We really believe in this project.

It is a downhill bike designed for riders who want to go big. It is long and stable. It features an integrated Pinion gearbox, a Gates belt drive and a high-mounted belt idler designed to separate braking forces from the work of the rear suspension.

This system ensures precise shifting and completely eliminates the rear derailleur, together with the risk of losing a race by smashing it against a rock.

All aluminium components are designed and CNC machined in-house on our 3- and 5-axis machining centres. The carbon tubes are bonded with high-strength resins using our top-secret joining system.

We do not yet know whether this uncompromising bike will go into production or whether the project will be acquired. What we do know is that months of very exciting track development lie ahead.

Technical highlights

The system we are developing

01

Pinion gearbox

Integrated and protected gearbox, designed to centralise mass and deliver precise shifting.
02

Gates belt drive

Clean and quiet belt drive, without a rear derailleur or vulnerable components exposed to impacts.
03

High-mounted belt idler

Designed to manage rear-suspension behaviour and separate it from braking forces.
04

Aluminium + carbon

In-house CNC-machined components, carbon tubes and our proprietary joining system.
